VACANT POSITION: Imam/Executive Officer

SUAMCT is a not-for-profit organization of ALL MUSLIMS AT SUA AND SORROUNDING AREAS INCLUDING ALUMNI. The main objective of SUAMCT is to mobilize the Muslim Community of the University towards the promotion of religious and socio-economic services within the University and anywhere in the United Republic of Tanzania.

SUAMCT invites applications to fill a post that combines two responsibilities - an IMAM and Executive Officer (Imam/EO) who will work at the SUAMCT Secretariat located at the SUA Mosque in Morogoro, under the direct supervision of the SUAMCT BOARD OF TRUSTEES. The appointment will be on contract basis.

Duties:

All duties of an Imam as given in the Qur'an and Hadith.

Developing proposals for activities and projects for pursuing the objec tives of SUAMCT and raising funds of the implementation of the same from different sources.

Undertaking or supervising implementation of the projects as well as monitoring and evaluation.

Secretary to the SUAMCT Board of Trustees.

Any other duties as directed by the SUAMCT of Trustees.

Qualifications and Experience:

A Tanzanian, aged 34 years or above, and married.

Excellent command of Qur'an recitation and translation, and Hadith.

Have a Bachelors degree followed by an experience in Planning.

Excellent communication and writing skills in English. Ability to speak and write in Arabic will be an added advantage.

Ability to use Computers and other modern Information Technologies.

Motivated and prepared to work extra hours and under pressure to meet set deadlines.

Remuneration and other benefits:

The salary will be commensurable to the salaries of SUA Administrative staff with similar secular qualifications. The package includes a free ( 3 - bedroom) house on campus.
